The Australian Experience (ABN Number 61 606 213 754) is a proprietary limited company registered and headquartered in the Commonwealth of Australia. University Australia is a business under The Australian Experience Pty Ltd, which is managed and operated by us directly.

As Student Placement Services Providers for Australian and New Zealand education institutions, we are required to request, collate, review and disseminate information including your personal information which you would have supplied to us in order to further your application to an Australian or New Zealand education institution. This includes private and personal information.

For sake of clarity, private and personal information includes your bio-data, personal identifiers, unique academic and employment information and information about your family members.

This information may be supplied direct to the relevant education institution for further processing. The institutions privacy policy and safeguards may apply to you independently upon receipt of your personal information.

This information may also be supplied to our partner agencies to assist with securing your admission and enrolment. The privacy policies of these agencies may apply to you independently upon receipt of your personal information.

This information may also be submitted to the Australian Department of Home Affairs and Commonwealth or State/Territory Government Agency should this be within our service offering to you and required in order to further your application. The privacy policies of these agencies will apply to you independently and you will be notified of their application and the protections available accordingly.

Your personal and private information will be retained by us in a secure manner and disseminated to the above-referenced organisations with due care. We expressly warrant to use your personal and private information for authorised purposes only and subject to your informed consent. For clarity, informed consent involves your actual consent with the knowledge of who your information is being disseminated to and for what purpose.

We may be required to provide data pertaining to your admission to our partners, insurers, education and government agencies for non-admission purposes. This will not include your personal and private information which will not be disclosed to anyone by our organisation save for an authorised purpose and/or subject to your informed consent. Your private and personal information will not be used in our marketing and promotional information to clients and persons unless you have provided your express and written consent.

Our organisation is guided by the AS/NZS ISO/IEC 27002:2006 in relation to best practice recommendations and guidelines.

Data collected when you visit our website include:

University Australia’s website use session cookies to recognise that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after leaving our site.

This enables us to detect whether you have already visited the website so that contact forms are automatically filled, and for website analytics purposes to evaluate website performance and optimizing it to meet user needs. These cookies are automatically deleted after each defined time.

Contact forms

Any data entered by you in response to a request to enter personal or other data on this website is always voluntary. We will only use any personal or other data you provide to us on the contact form for the intended purpose.

Storage of access data

When you visit our website, your information is sent automatically through the browser on your device to the server on our website. This information is temporarily stored in log file. 

Disclosure of information

We disclose your personal data to third parties only, if:

Deletion and Retention of Data

We save your personal data only as long as is necessary to achieve the aforementioned purposes. After discontinuance of the purpose for which data was collected, data are routinely deleted. However, for all clients on behalf of whom we are engaged to provide our services, we are obliged to maintain a comprehensive file on all information (about you) supplied to us, your personal and private information supplied in furtherance of your matters handled by our offices (i.e. admissions and placements, visa applications etc). Such files will be maintained for 7 years from the time your matter has been completed, and you are entitled to ask for a copy of your file if you ever require one. All our client files are confidential, secured and accessible only to members of our staff authorised to assist with, supervise and oversee your matter. They are distinguished by unique identifiers to prevent your information being mixed up with that of other persons and clients and in order to prevent unauthorized and/or unrequired dissemination. 

Data protection declaration for the use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies’, i.e. text files saved on your computer which enable analysis of your use of the website. The information regarding your use of this website generated by the cookie (including your IP address) is sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
